About us

Hi~ I’m Morgan, and I LOVE Halloween!   No that’s not me in the photo, I wish! I’m at least 20 years older and 20 pounds heavier than that beauty.  I’m 42, a mother of a teenage daughter, and been married for 20 years.  I’m a very average middle American woman who’s addicted to social networking~ really, I so love how it’s made the web more personal. It feels like even neighborhoods are so less personable than ever, and I that bugs me.

We live in a really nice suburb of Detroit, it’s kind of exclusive, which is nice for our daughter, and very safe, but not all that friendly. Some people around here think they are just the cat’s meow and are really into “material things” and how everything “appears”.  Phony if you ask me.  What’s the benefit of being in your 40’s if your caught up in what everyone else thinks about what you do, how ya dress, what you drive, and how big your house is?  What are we in high school still?  Really, get over it.

I’m from the south—I talk to people constantly.  At the store, in line, at my daughter’s school, wherever I’m at.  I love friendly people, you never know who you’re going to meet or how much you might have in common unless you say hello.  It’s just common courtesy where I was raised.

Every year I host a Sexy Halloween Costume Party.  It’s a complete gas!  It’s just for fun, and it’s all adults so we let our imaginations go. I help my friends find their outfits at www.LadiesSexyCostume.com .  It’s a great resource for good priced, fun and ladies sexy costumes!  This is my first Halloween with the site, and I know lots about the internet and crap about computers, so this has been a real challenge for me.

Friends kept buggin me about going into the costume business because of my annual party and all the costumes I’d wear and find for my friends.  I never took anyone serious, but it all just kind of happened.  You know how when you volunteer for something and then you spend so much time doing it it sort of becomes like a job? Well that’s how it started for me.

Most of my friends are my age and older, (my husband’s got 18 years on me).  They were just like me and wanted to find a pretty costume that hid their fat spots but still looked nice. So a couple years ago I made a short booklet on what kinds of costumes would hide certain body shapes and still show off what good parts we had left.

My doughnut and cake addiction sticks to my butt and thighs, so I always looked for stuff to show off my waist and chest without hangin out all over.  I got a couple friends shaped like a barrel on a popsicle stick, so we’d pick things with short skirts to show off their legs.  Before I knew it I was some kinda Halloween costume fashion police.

Long about August everytime I showed my face at the ballpark, the barn, at my daughter’s school, or even Starbucks I was talking up costumes with everyone.  I was consultin on so many costumes that I started thinking that if we could all order together we might get some kind of discount or free shipping. So I contacted a few costume retailers.

Well there wasn’t any southern hospitality in the discount department from that bunch!  They kept telling me I had to:

  • Open a store
  • Get a distributorship with an annual order minimum, or monthly minimum
  • Or buy in bulk of at least $2500 or 200 units to get any price break

I wasn’t up for any of that. What I found out was that those same rules didn’t apply if you had an “on-line store”.  That again sounded way too computer techie for me.  But what I did find out was that some companies have an “affiliate” program.  They won’t give you discounts, but they will pay you a commission on net sales (after taxes and shippin and handeling) on actual costumes you sell through your website.

Well unless you sell a million costumes your percentage is about 4%, nothing to get rich on for sure, but enough to cover the cost of a webmaster, and a part-time internet promotion person to help build up the site. So this year is my first year at givin it a go!  I can’t say if we’ll do it next year or not but I’m tickled to give it a try.

What I’m hopin is to get lots of input from other real women like myself and my friends.  I’m working on getting a service that will offer a way to contact me by phone for those women that want opinions or advice on what might be good for them.  A “live support” sort of button that can be clicked and connect people to my phone or im.

I know that what’s been true for both my friends and I is that after so long in a marriage, Halloween costumes tend to bring out the best behavior in our men! Makes them see us in a different light if you know what I mean.  So with that in mind, all the costumes I choose to put on the sight are very feminine and have a very enticing appeal.

Some are to be worn to parties, others are more for “home use only”, unless of course your one seriously confident lady with a bit of an exhibitionist streak.  For all those brave gals, I envy you.  Myself, I usually go for the short skirts, but wear leggins with em.  So I’ve tried to put together the best of about 250 pretty costumes, with some accessories that compliment to give all body shapes and personalities a good lot to choose from.

I’ve also tried to go with a vendor whose prices were reasonable, did offer some free shipping offers, quick delivery, and quality costumes for the price.  I’d say that the only drawback I’ve found so far is that popular styles do sell out, so it can really be one of those “snooze you loose” kinda things.

So hey, I’m Morgan, that’s my story and I’d love to hear from you!  Please share your thoughts, suggestions and opinions.  Constructive criticism is also welcome, mean spirited bitchy-ness is not, mean spirited stuff will be ignored.  If you can think of something that would help the site run better, I’d love to hear it. If you could suggest some other type of costumes you’d like to see for women, I’d love to keep track of that and see what we could get added.  Please know that I have no control over pricing, it’s a national distributor and all those kinds of choices are made by corporate, sorry.

So please leave a comment on something you see, vote for a favorite, or make a recommendation.  And please, if you like what you see, share it with a friend or someone on your network, I’d sure appreciate it, honestly.

Hope to chat with plenty of ya, and wish you the best of the Halloween season!

Sincerely~

Morgan Ramsey
